Civil War in France?

July 11, 2023 by Barry J. Klazura No Comments

Less than one month ago (06/19), I posted on my blog, “France at the Crossroads”. It was an article which questioned if France was governable given several internal challenges which have been ignored and glossed over for decades. Although the article was excellent, it ignored what should be viewed as it’s greatest challenge, immigrants who do not or will not assimilate.

This latest article asks the question, “Is France on the brink of a civil war?”  Unfortunately, I do not believe it is hyperbole as it is now acknowledged that there are over seven hundred and fifty “no go zones” which police, fire and emergency medical units met with not only hostility, but street blockages, rioting and fire bombing. As little as three years ago, French government officials denied any such “no go zones” existed. These zones have even begun to filter into the smallest rural communities where local municipal services are minimal and the number of church desecrations and murder of priests has been on the rise.

The recent weeks of rioting which continued although faced with forty-five thousand police poses a deadly challenge to French leadership which for at least three administrations has promised to address but has produced nothing. Other European nations have taken steps to maintain their unique cultures, notable Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, and others. Often the steps taken are hard, such as limiting welfare, stopping family reunification, stopping new immigration, etc. With such a large number of immigrants who so aggressively reject French and Western values, France (like Sweden) faces a time of trials and hardship if they decide to act to save their values. The alternative is the possible destruction of centuries of culture and progress with a march back into the Middle Ages.
